About

I am a simple man seeking not to mess up. If I could remain silent, I would.  We know that speaking is sometimes a chaos for the speaker and listener.  But, we forget that silence is sometimes more a source of chaos than speaking.

  1. So either way you are going to mess up.

Relax, and go watch “A Man for All Seasons”.

    Hi OM,

Nice site, I learn alot from this blog (or whatever you classify it as). But doesn’t your movie reviews make you seem like an idiot?

  4. Probably, but not nearly as much as the combination of your bad grammar and username make you seem like an idiot.

My humblest apologies kind sir. I erred. I shall make the appropriate rectifications.

“Nice site. I learn a lot from this blog (side note: obviously I am being sarcastic here. Don’t want to burst your ego seeing as it is already inflated) or whatever you call it, Mozaffar’s Moments. How about just MoMo? Or how about, “Who cares?” But don’t your movie reviews make you seem like an idiot?”

Better? I apologize for the grammar in my earlier post. I am a former student of yours so I am definitely not at your level. If I spend enough time with cake and sweets, my stomach will definitely get to the level as yours, hopefully. Wow, in class, all I used to think was, “What the h-double hockey sticks does this guy eat.” Seriously OM, cut down on the food, eat a salad, take a walk around the block. I don’t want you to suffer from a myocardial infarction, though it would not be a sad thing. I want you to be around so you can keep MoMo running and I can devote my life inflating your ego or giving you credence by posting comments. “Bloggers” develop a fall sense “contribution.” There are legitimate bloggers who actually have some eminence and people regard their views important. However, MoMo is just a dime a dozen and the truth about bloggers such as yourself is that the motive behind the creation of such blogs is summarized by this sentence:
“Look at me, I have something important to say. Please, look at me.” It’s an indication of people who require attention and want to attain celebrity status.

You know, I just wanted to gauge your reaction. I wanted to see what your “attitude” would be in the response to my post. Much obliged Professor.

  6. Sorry, but I never had a student named Fakey Steaky.

  7. Fakey Steaky sounds like a disgruntled pre-Med that didn’t get the “easy A” he was expecting from Islam class. Perhaps your time would be better spent, Fakey Steaky, in studying Organic Chemistry rather than cruising the internet and posting sophomoric comments.

  9. Beautiful, succinct “about” page that reminds me of the hadith “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should either speak a good word or remain silent.” Nicely put, Mozaffar!

    Asslom-o-Allaikum Sir,

I am Sarfaraz Abbasi, 28 years old from Karachi (Sindh. Pakistan), I particularly belong to city ‘Larkana’. I have been great fan of Roger Ebert for many years. I came across your article, posted by Roger Ebert in his ‘Our far-flung correspondents’. I am very amazed to learn that there a Pakistani-American movie-critic, belonging formerly to our Sindh province’s largest city Karachi.

I am also excited to learn about your activity of giving lectures over Islam, and how wonderfully you have been delivering sermons, based on liberty and tolerance. I am avid fan of movies, I have watched hundreds of movies, from Golden-Age of Hollywood, French New-Wave, German New-Wave, to current Iranian cinema. I would love to establish a correspondence with you, and I just wish to hear from you (I will return to see the reply).

    Take Care (Khuda-Hafiz)
